2011 RPS Food Drive Starts Next Week

Next week kicks off Research and Public Service’s 4th annual Food Drive to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.    
 
What:  Food Drive
When:  October 31 – November 18, 2011 (Online donations are now open!)
Where:  ISAT/CS/HHS Bldg (3 physical and 1 online)

1. ISAT/CS Bldg Main Lobby (by the elevator)
2. Dean’s Suite (3rd floor of ISAT/CS)
3. HHS Starbucks Coffee Machine (1st floor of HHS)
4. Donate online at:  http://vad.aidmatrix.org/vadxml.cfm?driveid=5579  (Please consider an online donation, as monies donated directly to the Food Bank can be used to purchase 2x to 4x as much food then what an individual could purchase at a grocery store.)

The most needed items are as follows:

Canned Meats:  Tuna, Chicken, Spam, Meat Spreads
Canned Vegetables:  Beans, Beans and Franks, Corn, Peas, Potatoes
Canned Fruits:  Peaches, Pears, Fruit Cocktail, Apple Sauce
Canned Soups:  Chili, Beef Stew, Spaghetti O’s, Ravioli, Chicken Noodle Soup, Vegetable Beef Soup
Grains, Boxed Pasta, and Sauces:  Boxed Cereals, Oatmeal, Mac & Cheese, Spaghetti and Sauce, Boxed Rice, Dried Beans
Beverages (non-refrigerated):  Shelf Stable Milk, 100% Juice
