Manufacturing Operations Manager Needed

Job Description

Key Objective

Direct and manage all plant operations for a state of the art additive manufacturing facility with overall responsibilities for scheduling, production, equipment maintenance, quality, and engineering, including facilities maintenance as well as other production-related activities while making the best use of materials and resources.

Key Responsibilities
•Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).

•Assist with preparation of operation plans -- Annual Business Plan and Budget, and other plans as required.

•Improve manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

•Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation for multiple industries (e.g. aerospace, medical, consumer products).

•Manage all operational functions through Paramount’s supervisors and team leaders.  Collaborate with department managers and employees to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.

•Play a key role in the development of future leaders. Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Consultant,  as appropriate.

•Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.

•Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, employee involvement, security, etc.).

•Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.

•Work effectively and interact well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships.

•Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

•Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.  Ability to determine/track the profitability of production lines and individual jobs.

•Possess a flexible approach to working hours and job demands.

•Drive and support lean manufacturing methodologies and 6S.

•Work with Regional Sales Managers to ensure customer requirements are met and complaints are resolved in a timely manner, visiting customers as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
•5-7 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Prior experience with ISO and AS9100 Quality Standards.
•Prior experience with MRP, ERP systems.
•Prior experience in a continuous manufacturing environment with multiple shifts.
•Prior experience in the following processes: Additive Manufacturing Processes including Laser Sintering, Fused Deposition Modeling, and Carbon Fiber Composites is preferred.
•Strong technical writing skills are a plus.
•Ability to obtain security clearance if required is a plus.
