This is to let you know that Prof. Matthew Gerber (UVA) will be our guest speaker this coming Wednesday, March 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ntelos room (SAT/CS 259). Dr. Gerber will talk about Natural Language Processing, with Applications in Predictive Technology. During his talk Dr. Gerber will consider question such as How can we enable intelligent computer systems that help physicians create patient treatment plans? How can we predict tomorrow's crimes using today's Twitter feeds? This talk will present an NLP approach to answering these and some other relevant questions concerning the use NLP.
Pizza and drinks will be served at 3:30 p.m. I hope you can come and encourage your students to attend.
